Members at Taxi Co-Op Quebec achieve new contract – UFCW 501
Quebec City – January 18, 2024 – UFCW Canada Local 501 members working at the Taxi Co-Op Quebec head office have recently achieved a new collective agreement that brings wage increases, improvements to vacation time, and more.
The new contract runs for three years and includes administrative staff, receptionists, and clerks.
Highlights of the new agreement include the introduction of a family or domestic violence clause that allows up to three additional days off for members to attend medical and/or legal appointments.
Other highlights include:
- Wage increases retroactive to February 1, 2023, ranging from 20% to 31% throughout the life of the agreement
- Enhanced vacation entitlement wit the possibility to split vacation time from the third week
- The addition of a statutory holiday, bringing the total number of holidays to 12
- The introduction of a remote working pilot project

The ratification of this contract validates our engagement to strongly advocate for the members and their best interests, and to contribute to the improvement of their working conditions,” says Daniel Nadeau, UFCW Local 501 Director for Eastern Quebec.
