Global Week of Action for Hotel Housekeepers – December 4 - 10

Geneva – November 29, 2023 – UFCW Canada, as an affiliate of the IUF, supports 2023 Global Week of Action for Hotel Housekeepers from December 4 to 10, seeking to raise awareness surrounding the health, safety and working conditions of housekeepers in the global hospitality industry.

Increased workloads, low wages, harassment, and sexual harassment in the workplace are affecting workers in the hotel sector. The involvement of workers and their unions in the development and implementation of health and safety policies is crucial for the creation of safe working environments and for combating all forms of violence, including sexual harassment.
