UFCW representation brings reactivation for Uber driver
Toronto – September 6, 2023 – Uber driver Harpinder Singh Brar has been reactivated on the platform and back to earning a living after receiving assistance from UFCW Canada representation.
Brar, a Platinum-status driver with Uber, has been driving with the company since 2021.
After purchasing a new, more fuel-efficient vehicle, Brar submitted updated documents to Uber via the app. After 24 hours after his submission, he learned that he was deactivated from the platform due to Uber’s system flagging one of his documents as ‘fraudulent’.
Brar unsuccessfully tried multiple times to appeal the decision. He then contacted UFCW Canada who appealed the case on his behalf and was able to get him reactivated and back on the road.
“I would like to thank the UFCW Canada team for all of their efforts in getting me reactivated,” says Brar. “I am very happy now. Thank you UFCW.”
