Food processing members at Star Egg build a better life – UFCW 248P

Saskatoon, Sask. – April 20, 2023 – UFCW 248P members at Star Egg are celebrating a collective bargaining victory that will see improvements to wages, pensions, shift premiums and more.

“The bargaining committee has done an exceptional job on behalf of all members throughout these negotiations,” says UFCW 248P President Pat Horbay. “We extend our gratitude to everyone who participated in this ratification process.”

Members will see wage increases between 11.4 and 14.9 percent throughout the five-year agreement with rates applied retroactive to the beginning of 2023.

Members will also see increases to benefits, eye exam coverage and improvements to prescription glasses and boot allowance to along with new language that support wellness and leisure programs.
