Distillery members at Diageo build a better life – UFCW 832
Gimli, Man. – March 6, 2023 – UFCW 832 members at the renowned Crown Royal Whiskey distillery recently ratified a new contract that secures wage increases in each year of the four-year collective agreement alongside increased pension, sick days, anti-scab protections and more.
“Our committee worked hard to deliver on the needs identified by their co-workers,” says UFCW 832 Union Negotiator Phil Kraychuk. “This group was looking for more than just wage increases and ensured meaningful improvements throughout their collective agreement.”
Members will see increases of 3 percent, 2 percent, 2 percent and 4 percent over the life of their contract to go alongside wage adjustments in almost every classification. Members also secured two additional vacation days, an added stat day, full employer-paid long-term disability coverage and upon ratification each member takes home a Texas Mickey sized bottle of the finely distilled Crown Royal Whiskey they work tirelessly to produce each day.
