Montreal – February 15, 2023 – Last December 14, an application for certification was filled by the United Food and Commercial Workers, Local Union 1991P to represent the Exceldor plant’s quality control workers in Saint-Anselme. In a decision dated on January 19, 2023, the Quebec Administrative Labour Tribunal gave their approval to UFCW Local 1991P.

The quality control workers from this plant specialized in chicken conditioning are convinced that it is with UFCW that they will obtain a real power relationship because our Union negotiates working conditions for all its members. Amongst the reasons that motivated their desire to join UFCW Local 1991P are the improvement of wages, the respect of work conditions and a better protection against unfair and random decisions from the employer.

In the upcoming days, a negotiating committee will be created to establish the newly members’ demands. Formed with lab workers, this committee will be supported by a strong and experienced union team.
