UFCW activists Light the Night for the life changing work of the LLSC
Toronto – October 24, 2022 – Commemorating another year of life-changing fundraising from coast, to coast, to coast, UFCW Canada members and Local Unions took part in the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada’s (LLSC) Light the Night event – held virtually on October 22.
Held as a singular, national event since the beginning of the pandemic, Light the Night is one of Canada’s largest fundraising events bringing communities together in a solidarity of purpose to help raise funds and awareness for individuals battling blood cancers.
This year’s event focused on members of the blood cancer community sharing their stories and answering the question “Who did you let your light shine for?”
The virtual event also featured researchers and front-line professionals providing first-hand updates on their cutting-edge work and how the LLSC continues to support them in their journey of one day finding a cure.

Since adopting the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada as the charity of choice, nearly 40 years ago, UFCW Canada members and Local Unions across Canada have raised over $49 million to support the life changing research and programs to find a cure, provide better therapies and patient support, and raise public awareness of leukemia, lymphoma, and other blood cancers.
