Toronto – October 18, 2022 – The latest recipient of the BDM scholarship award goes to UFCW 1006A member and international student Adrian Spânu who is completing his advanced diploma at George Brown College in Business Administration & Marketing.

“I must admit, it was a pleasant surprise, as I was not expecting a 39-year-old to be considered for such a program,” says Spânu. “This support not only boosts my motivation, but it is also proof that members can count on their union in difficult times.”

The 2022 list of BDM scholarship recipients will be posted in the coming months, and thanks to everyone who applied and referred eligible candidates.

The UFCW Canada – BDM Scholarship offers a total of $18,000 in scholarships to UFCW Canada members and their families and is one of more than 25 union scholarships available to members and their relatives every year, totaling more than $300,000 in support.
