BDM Scholarship helps engineering student focus on building a green future

Ottawa – June 29, 2022 – The latest recipient of the BDM Scholarship award goes to UFCW 1006A member-dependent Shannon Sullivan, who is in her third year of Civil Engineering at Carleton University.

“I am very grateful for this scholarship award, and I know it will have a big impact on my life,” says Sullivan. “I hope to use the concepts I learn to find ways to implement greener methods in the city’s infrastructure and make a difference in my community in the fight against climate change," she adds. 

The UFCW Canada – BDM Scholarship offers a total of $18,000 in scholarships to UFCW Canada members and their families and is one of more than 25 union scholarships available to members and their relatives every year, totaling more than $300,000 in support.
