Hospitality members at Best Western Brantford ratify new contract – UFCW 1006A
Brantford, Ont. – May 16, 2022 – UFCW 1006A members at the Best Western Hotel & Conference Centre in Brantford, Ontario recently secured a new three-year collective agreement that increases wages and benefits, among other improvements.
“Thank you to our committee members for stepping up and working to make a difference on behalf of the membership,” says UFCW 1006A President Wayne Hanley. “When we work together, we can build a better future for each other.”
In addition to wage and medical benefit improvements, members also secured the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation as a paid statutory holiday. Improvements were also made to members' shoe allowance, along with expanded bereavement language and minimum wage protections.
