Cannabis workers at Plateau Cannabis join the union – UFCW 1006A

Ottawa – January 21, 2022 – Workers at Plateau Cannabis are the newest members to join UFCW 1006A after securing a successful certification vote that includes members from two retail locations in Ottawa.

“We are proud to welcome the new members from Plateau Cannabis to our union family,” says UFCW 1006A President Wayne Hanley. “It’s incredible to see a green wave of unionization sweep across the province as Cannabis workers seek to gain rights and a voice in the workplace.”

The new members organized to enforce dignity and respect at work and to improve scheduling, hours, and health and safety.
