Retail members at Indigo Chapters Coquitlam achieve first contract – UFCW 247
Coquitlam, B.C. – August 30, 2021 – Retail members at Indigo Chapters Coquitlam have ratified their first collective agreement fresh off the heels of a successful organizing campaign.
“This first contract gives our members at Indigo Chapters Coquitlam better working conditions and a much-needed voice at work,” says UFCW 247 President Dan Goodman. “The bargaining committee did an outstanding job ensuring the issues that led to unionization were at the core of every negotiated article.”
Some the contract highlights include minimum wage increase protections, annual raises, seniority, scheduling language, and paid sick days. Indigo Chapters Coquitlam members add their voice to a growing chorus of retail workers across the country who are standing up and demanding better from their employer.
