Long-term care members secure new agreement – UFCW 1518
Penticton, B.C. – July 23, 2021 – Members at the Cherry Park Retirement Residence in Penticton, British Columbia recently voted unanimously to ratify a new collective agreement that increases wages and improves vacation allotment among other gains.
Bargaining committee members focused on making key improvements to the collective agreement in this round of contract negotiations.
They managed to secure wage increases, improved the vacation allotment and vacation threshold, and added language to the new contract that provides leave for survivors of domestic violence.
The membership signaled their support for the bargaining committee’s outstanding effort in negotiations by ratifying the new union contract with 100 percent support.
