Food processing members at Semences Prograin agree on new contract – UFCW 1991-P
Saint-Césaire, Que. – March 9, 2021 – UFCW 1991-P members at Semences Prograin, working as developers and processors of soybeans, will see a 7.5 percent increase to their wages over the life of a new union contract, including an annual lump sum of $500 in the first two years.
The new three-year contract, which covers some twenty employees, also improves overtime language, personal and sick leave provisions, disability benefits, in addition to adding shift, team lead, and trainer bonuses.
“I would like to take the opportunity to congratulate our members at Semences Prograin on this successful round of negotiations,” says Mario Maisonneuve, President UFCW 1991-P. “The new contract allows these workers to consolidate their jobs while maintaining excellent working-conditions.”
