Food retail members at Metro Plus Sorel-Tracy ratify new agreement – UFCW 500

Montreal – March 2, 2021 – UFCW 500 members working at Metro Plus Sorel-Tracy have ratified a new seven-year agreement which sees salaries increase by 2 percent each year, in addition to a 2 percent increase to their Christmas bonuses in each year of the contract.

The contract also sees a supervisor premium of $0.75 per hour while securing thirteen new regular positions and improving group insurance to allow for increased member savings.

“We are very happy with the result of this negotiation which provided a reasonable settlement that ultimately promotes a healthy work environment,” says Antonio Filato UFCW 500 President. “In addition to obtaining new advantages, Metro Plus Sorel-Tracy workers have improved their working conditions in several respects.”
