BDM Scholarship helps UFCW 500 member with tuition costs

Quebec City – May 23, 2020 – Jorane Lamontagne is one of eighteen winners of the UFCW Canada – BDM Scholarship. Currently enrolled in the Humanities program at Cégep Garneau in Quebec City, Jorane is a proud UFCW Local 500 member who works at Metro.

Sister Lamontagne had the following to say about winning a UFCW Canada – BDM Scholarship:

“Winning this scholarship means a lot to me. I come from a large family headed by a single mother, and the money will help me pay my tuition fees for university. It will also allow me to focus more on my education and look at reducing my hours at work. I am so grateful that UFCW Canada has awarded me this scholarship. Thank you!”

The UFCW Canada – BDM Scholarship offers a total of $18,000 in scholarships to UFCW Canada members and their families and is one of more than 25 union scholarships available to members and their families every year, totaling more than $300,000 in support.

The deadline to apply for this year’s BDM Scholarship is September 30, 2020.
