BDM Scholarship covers textbook costs of UFCW 12R24 member

Hamilton, Ont. – May 2, 2020 – Julian Filippi is one of eighteen winners of the UFCW Canada – BDM Scholarship. Currently enrolled in the Business Administration Accounting program at the Sheridan College Pilon School of Business, Julian is a proud UFCW Local 12R24 member who works at The Beer Store.

Brother Filippi had the following to say about winning a UFCW Canada – BDM Scholarship:

“I am currently enrolled in the Accounting program at Sheridan College. Last year I was not able to afford all my textbooks for the year. But the BDM Scholarship will help pay for my textbooks for next semester, with some money left over to assist with other costs. I would like to thank UFCW Canada for awarding me this amazing scholarship.”  

The UFCW Canada – BDM Scholarship offers a total of $18,000 in scholarships to UFCW Canada members and their families and is one of more than 25 union scholarships available to members and their families every year, totaling more than $300,000 in support.

The deadline to apply for this year’s BDM Scholarship is September 30, 2020.
