On the Front Lines: UFCW Canada beverage members
Toronto – March 27, 2020 – The continued operation of grocery stores, take out restaurants, and liquor and beer stores in most provinces during the COVID-19 pandemic means that UFCW Canada beverage members remain busy on the front lines working hard to supply stores, eateries, and other facilities throughout the crisis.
Whether they are producing or delivering coffees, teas, spirits, beer, soft drinks, or bottled water, or serving customers, receiving product, and keeping the shelves stocked at liquor and beer stores across the country, UFCW beverage members make and serve a wide range of beverage products that Canadians and their families have come to know and love.
“In countless communities throughout Canada, from coast to coast to coast, our sisters and brothers in the beverage production and retail sectors are working tirelessly to ensure that Canadians get the beverages they need,” says Paul Meinema, the national president of UFCW Canada.
“UFCW beverage members are doing an incredible job of sustaining our supply chains and keeping stores, restaurants, and other facilities stocked during the coronavirus pandemic, and we cannot thank them enough for their crucial efforts in this time of crisis,” the UFCW leader adds.
