Upgrade your skills with new webCampus courses for November

Toronto – November 4, 2019 – UFCW Canada's ground-breaking online education program, webCampus, is launching four new courses for November that can help you become an effective health food clerk, learn more about emergency preparedness and response, and better understand health and safety law.

The free online courses are being offered in English and are available to all UFCW Canada members and their family members, as well as our community partners. The new courses are described as follows:

Health Food Clerk – Part 1: Good nutrition is necessary for people to maintain optimal health. By taking this course, you will learn more about vitamins, supplements, and minerals and how they work. The course also helps you understand if you deficient in certain nutrients, explores the effects of various vitamins and supplements, and discusses how you can achieve good nutrition naturally.

Health Food Clerk – Part 2: After completing Part One of Health Food Clerk, students begin to understand the complexity involved with keeping our body healthy and the role that vitamins, minerals, and supplements can play in maintaining good health. Health Food Part Two will introduce students to herbs, organics, essential fatty acids, probiotics, and label logic.

ENROL NOW

Health & Safety Level 2 - Law - Part 1: For a safe and healthy workplace, we need to learn about the laws that govern our rights in the workplace. This course will help you interpret the law in order to gain a better understanding of the duties and responsibilities of workers and employers when it comes to health and safety. By the end of this course, you will be able to develop short-term strategies and long-term goals for your health and safety committee.

ENROL NOW

Emergency Preparedness & Pandemic Response Planning: H1N1 (influenza), the Bird Flu, Mad Cow Disease, tornadoes, and multi-car accidents – all of these have wreaked havoc with public health. Take this course to learn more about the emergency preparedness and response planning that your workplace should have in place to deal with emergencies and pandemics should they arise.
