BDM Scholarship relieves financial worries of UFCW 1400 member

Saskatoon, Sask. – May 8, 2019 – Treena Lake is one of eighteen winners of the UFCW Canada – BDM Scholarship. Currently completing a Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Saskatchewan, Treena is a proud UFCW Canada Local 1400 member who works at Saskatoon Co-op.

Sister Lake had the following to say about winning a UFCW Canada – BDM Scholarship:

“I would like to thank my union representatives for telling me about this scholarship and encouraging me to apply for it. The money will go a long way towards helping me achieve my goals and obtain my degree. Thank you UFCW for awarding me this scholarship. I will now be able to focus more on my studies and worry less about my finances.”

The UFCW Canada – BDM Scholarship offers a total of $18,000 in scholarships to UFCW Canada members and their families and is one of more than 25 union scholarships available to members and their families every year, totaling more than $300,000.

The deadline to apply for the BDM Scholarship for 2019 is September 30.
