BDM Scholarship helps career goals of UFCW 832 member

Winnipeg – December 29, 2018 – UFCW Canada Local 832 member Fernando Morales is one of eighteen winners of the UFCW Canada – BDM Scholarship.

Fernando is a retail food member who works at a Real Canadian Superstore in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Currently completing the Digital Media Design program at Red River College, Brother Morales had the following to say about winning a UFCW Canada – BDM Scholarship:

“I am honoured to be one of the recipients of the UFCW Canada – BDM Scholarship. Currently I am a first year Digital Media Design student at Red River College. I plan to pursue a career in web design and motion graphics. It is motivating to know that my union is helping me progress in my lifelong passion of design. Thanks to the generous support of UFCW Canada, I can focus on developing my skills as an artist and designer.”

The UFCW Canada – BDM Scholarship offers a total of $18,000 in scholarships to UFCW Canada members and their families, and is one of more than 25 union scholarships available to members and their families every year, totaling more than $300,000.

The deadline to apply for the BDM scholarship for 2019 is September 30.
