Halifax – September 26, 2018 – UFCW Canada members in the Atlantic provinces have one week left to cash-in on the UFCW Eastern Provinces Council (EPC) Scholarship.

Each year, the UFCW EPC awards 13 scholarships of $1,000 each to members, and their families, of UFCW Locals 864, 1252 or 1288P.

The deadline for this year’s UFCW EPC scholarship is October 1, and all eligible members – those enrolled in a post-secondary program – are encouraged to apply now.

Out of the 13 UFCW EPC scholarships:

• Two are awarded to UFCW members in Prince Edward Island

• Two are awarded to UFCW members in Nova Scotia

• Two are awarded to UFCW members in Newfoundland and Labrador

• Two are awarded to UFCW members in Nova Scotia

• And one of the remaining five scholarships are awarded to UFCW EPC members at the following units: Delta Halifax, Lord Nelson, Westin, Hotel North, and Travelodge Sydney

In addition to the UFCW EPC Scholarship, members in the Atlantic Region are encouraged to apply online for one of 18 $1,000 UFCW Canada – BDM Scholarships.

Overall, more than 25 union scholarships – totalling $300,000 – are available to UFCW Canada members and families every year.
