Gender-neutral contract language and other gains for Local 175 Cintas members
Cambridge, Ont. – July 31, 2018 – UFCW Canada Local 175 members at Cintas Uniforms in Cambridge, Ontario recently ratified a new union contract.
The new three-year deal includes several improvements for the membership, including:

Two-percent salary increase in each year of the contract term, which totals almost $1.50 per hour for most of the employees at Cintas;

RRSP enhancements, from $2.00 to $2.50 for each hour worked;

Paid sick leave increase;

Anyone working four 10-hour days will receive 10 hours pay for all statutory holidays;

Employer to contribute $500 per year toward the Local Union’s Training and Education Fund;

Safety boot allowance increase to $200 per year.
Other big wins include new contract language that makes the contract completely gender-neutral.
Plus, better language regarding scheduling and health and safety meetings, and the employer will cover 50% of the cost to print copies of the agreement for the members.
