Calgary – July 16, 2018 – UFCW Canada Local 401 members working at Mountain Creek Farms in Calgary have ratified a new collective agreement that provides wage increases, improved bereavement leave, and more.

The Mountain Creek Farms members work at a food processing facility that purchases, processes, and resells meat products for a variety of retailers.

Highlights of the 3-year deal include improvements to bereavement leaves and leaves of absence, better seniority provisions, and new dignity and respect language.

Monetary improvements include signing bonuses of up to $2,270, depending on seniority, as well as wage increases in the final year of the contract.

The union would like to thank the bargaining committee for all of their hard work during negotiations.
