Members at Robert Tellier IGA achieve new agreement – UFCW 500
Saint-Jérôme, Que. – February 5, 2018 – UFCW Canada Local 500 members at the Marché Robert Tellier IGA in Saint-Jérôme have ratified a new collective agreement. The contract is retroactive to November 26, 2017.
As well as an annual wage increase of 2% for workers at the top of the pay scale, the 120 workers at the Saint-Jérôme supermarket achieved a number of other gains, including:
an annual 2.5% lump sum for off-scale members;
creation of two part-time worker categories (those who are always available and those with limited availability);
vision care insurance;
ongoing employer’s contribution to the UFCW Quebec Dental Plan to provide benefit coverage at 80%;
higher signing and Christmas bonuses.
“Congratulations to the bargaining committee on this new agreement”, said Antonio Filato, President of UFCW Local 500. “It will consolidate quality jobs and maintain good working conditions over the duration of the agreement.”
