DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel members achieve new contract – UFCW 1006A
London, Ont. – October 17, 2017 – UFCW Canada Local 1006A members working at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in London, Ontario have recently ratified a new union contract that brings increases to wages, improvements to benefits and more.
Located in the center of downtown London, Ontario, the DoubleTree hotel is one of the premier choices for meetings, conferences, weddings and social gatherings in Southwestern Ontario.
The new contract features several improvements including:

Wage increases for housekeeping, laundry and other classifications;

Banquet staff will see overall wages double over the term of the union contract;

Improvement to sick day language to five days from zero previously;
-
Increase to Health and Welfare benefit.
"I'm proud of our bargaining committee for their solidarity, strength and hard work in achieving a strong union contract for our membership," says UFCW Canada Local 1006A President Wayne Hanley.
Negotiations were led by UFCW Local 1006A's Frank Ragni with support from union representatives Rick Del Fiacco, Joe Blythe, and members, Crystal Pirie, Matt Trew, Donna Packowski, and Dawn Birch.
