New contract for members at IGA Super-Marché Pierre Jobidon de Limoilou – UFCW 500

Quebec City – September 18, 2017 – UFCW Canada Local 500 members working at the IGA Super-Marché Pierre Jobidon in the Limoilou neighbourhood of Quebec City have ratified a new collective agreement.

The seven-year contract came into effect in August and provides members with several gains, including:

• A 25 percent increase in the bonus for assistant managers;

• An increase of up to 2 percent for the Christmas bonus;

• A guarantee that the premium for the dental care plan, which is 80 percent funded by the employer, will be indexed for the duration of the contract; and

• A 2 percent wage increase in each year of the contract for workers at the top of the wage scale.   

“This new contract improves working conditions for the members at IGA, at a time when competition in the grocery industry is becoming increasingly fierce,” says Antonio Filato, President of UFCW Canada Local 500. “Congratulations to the bargaining team members on achieving an excellent agreement,” he adds.
