Toronto – March 14, 2017 – Students Against Migrant Exploitation (SAME) recently brought their message of creative activism to more than 200 participants at the Law in Action Within Schools (LAWS) Annual Global Citizens conference held at York University in Toronto.

SAME activists kicked off the conference with a dynamic presentation on how young people can use grassroots strategies, social media, and creative mobilization to make a difference in their schools, neighbourhoods and communities. What followed was a SAME presentation on the plight of migrant workers in Canada that mixed music, visuals, and activist testimonials.

SAME is an annual participant and presenter at the LAWS Global Citizens Conference.

LAWS in an innovative, partnership between the University of Toronto Faculty of Law, York University's Osgoode Hall Law School, and the Toronto District School Board, which works with thousands of students annually.  Its goal is to support, guide, and motivate high school students in overcoming challenges, and accessing post-secondary education.

Since its inception, SAME has been one of Canada's leading organizations engaging youth in social justice issues. SAME has worked tirelessly to deliver its message to tens of thousands of young people at hundreds of schools and campuses, as well as through innovative social media campaigns.

SAME conducts presentations throughout the year. If you or your school would like to book a FREE presentation, or would like some more information regarding volunteer opportunities, please contact [email protected] or visit SAME on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.
