Workers at Courtyard by Marriott join the union – UFCW 1006A

Markham, Ont. – March 2, 2017 – Workers at the Courtyard by Marriott Hotel in Markham, Ontario have voted 'YES' to joining UFCW Canada Local 1006A.

The members work in housekeeping, laundry, and maintenance, and in the hotel's on-site restaurant.

"Our newest members showed tremendous unity and strength in coming together to achieve this victory for their future. This was a worker-led campaign with workers seeking union representation due to treatment in the workplace.

UFCW Canada Local 1006A represents workers at several hotels across Ontario, including many Marriott locations.
