Members at Neptune Technologies & Bioressources achieve first contract – UFCW 501
Sherbrooke, Que. – September 26, 2016 – UFCW Canada Local 501 members working at Neptune Technologies & Bioressources in Sherbrooke, Quebec have ratified their first collective agreement.
The Neptune members work at a laboratory that manufactures value-added natural products and Neptune Krill Oil. The two-year contract brings many improvements to the members’ working conditions, including:

Recognition of seniority;

Creation of a wage scale;

Stabilization of work schedules;

Introduction of the Fonds de solidarité de la FTQ (QFL solidarity fund) with contributions from the employer;

Annual wage increases of approximately 1.5 percent.
“We are very happy and proud of this new agreement for the Neptune members,” says Alain Lachaîne, the President of UFCW Canada Local 501. “I would like to congratulate the bargaining committee on a job well done,” he adds.
