UFCW Canada – BDM Scholarship winner: Jenna Olsen, UFCW 247

Langley, B.C. – July 30, 2016 – Jenna Olsen is one of eighteen UFCW Canada – BDM Scholarship winners for 2015.

Currently enrolled in the Human Kinetics program at the University of British Columbia – Okanagan Campus in Kelowna, British Columbia, Emily is a proud UFCW Canada Local 247 member who works at Hakam’s Your Independent Grocer.

Sister Olsen is pictured here with UFCW Canada Local 247 Union Representative Heather McLaverty, who recently presented Jenna with the $1,000 union scholarship at the Local Union’s office in Kelowna. 

Every year UFCW Canada offers a total of 18 union scholarships worth $1,000 each to members, their spouses, and dependants for post-secondary education. The BDM scholarship was created to honour past UFCW leaders William Beggs, Fred Dowling, and Romeo Mathieu.
