Reconciliation and the Pillar of Relation
Reconciliation in the Workplace Toolkit |
Toronto – June 29, 2016 – Reconciliation within a workplace environment is about inclusion, belonging, dignity, and respect. Throughout National Aboriginal History Month, we have been exploring the four pillars of the Touchstones of Hope model, led by The Caring Society (FNCFCS), and have adapted it to reconciliation in the workplace.
The fourth pillar of reconciliation involves relating. The pillar of relation is about working together to create safe, dignified and respectful work environments. In a workplace, a collective bargaining agreement can be seen as the most effective tool in enforcing equality rights for all workers.
Guiding Principles of Reconciliation in the Workplace:
- We have a responsibility to take care of one another as human beings and as workers (Principle - Holistic Approach)
