Workers at Manitoulin Hotel & Conference Centre join the union – UFCW 206

Little Current, Ont. – July 3, 2015 – UFCW Canada Local 206 is proud to welcome workers at the Manitoulin Hotel & Conference Centre in Little Current, Ontario as the newest members of the Local Union.

The Ontario Labour Relations Board (OLRB) certified the new Local 206 bargaining unit – which consists of approximately twenty members – after workers recently voted unanimously in favour of joining UFCW Canada Local 206.

The Manitoulin Hotel & Conference Centre members work as housekeepers and front desk, kitchen, and special events staff.

Located in the heart of Northeastern Manitoulin and the Islands, the Manitoulin Hotel & Conference Centre opened two years ago and offers guests a unique experience with a theme centred around Aboriginal art and culture.

UFCW Canada Local 206 plans to commence bargaining with the employer very shortly.
