Toronto – April 20, 2015 – UFCW Canada is proud to join our social justice and environmental allies in celebrating Earth Day on April 22, 2015.
Earth Day is an opportunity to honour our beautiful planet and take action to protect it. More than one billion people in communities around the world will be voicing their concerns for the planet and calling on political leaders to boldly work together in preserving the environment that we all share and love. "We need to renew our commitment into building a sustainable world," says UFCW Canada National President Paul Meinema. "We stand with millions of individuals to send a message that responsible environmental stewardship is key to fostering a healthy and just society."
To commemorate this important day of action, UFCW Canada is offering a new Earth Day image that individuals and Local Unions can display as a poster and share with members through social media. The new Earth Day poster can be found in both French and English.
