Woodbridge, Ont. – October 7, 2014 – Workers at another LensCrafters eyewear store in Southern Ontario have voted to join UFCW Canada Local 1000A. By winning their union certification vote, LensCrafters associates at the Pickering Town Centre have joined with Local 1000A members at five other unionized LensCrafters locations.

By joining UFCW Canada, vision care workers are clearly demonstrating their resolve to achieve better wages and working conditions through collective bargaining. In July, Local 1000A members at LensCrafters in Fairview Mall, Markville Mall, Yorkdale Mall and Upper Canada Mall ratified their first collective agreement. Soon after, associates at Scarborough Town Centre voted to join Local 1000A. This is also great news for consumers – there are now six locations in the Greater Toronto Area to shop union for eyewear.
