Montreal – October 6, 2014 – Members working at the Super 8 Lachenaie have been certified as a UFCW Canada Local 501 bargaining unit by the Quebec Labour Relations Board, after a majority of the workers said “yes” to joining the union.

The new bargaining unit includes reception, maintenance and laundry staff, as well as a lifeguard and a security guard.

The members at the Super 8 Lachenaie in Terrebonne are now be part of the largest food and commercial workers union in Quebec, joining the tens of thousands of  UFCW members in Canada’s hotel sector.
