Toronto – October 2, 2026 – At its conference last week, the IUF Agricultural Workers Group elected a new IUF Agricultural Workers Group Board, with UFCW 1518 President Patrick Johnson becoming the new North American Representative.
Edmonton, Alta. – October 2, 2026 – In 2020, Cargill's beef processing plant in High River, Alberta, was the site of the largest industrial COVID-19 outbreak in North America with devastating consequence for UFCW 401 members. The week, the Parkland Institute released the results of the first independent investigation into the crisis delivering a scathing analysis of Alberta’s failure to manage and contain the outbreak.

Toronto – September 28, 2026 – After voting to join the local union last fall, UFCW 1006A members at the H&M retail store in Dufferin Mall have ratified their first union contract.
