Canada’s first-ever National Food Policy: Be sure to have your say!
Ottawa – July 20, 2017 – Time is running out for Canadians to participate in the federal government’s online survey about Canada’s first-ever National Food Policy.
Taking the survey is an important step in making sure the National Food Policy puts the interests of Canadians first, and contributes to a stronger, healthier, and safer food system for many generations to come.
Through the survey, and the entire consultation process, we also need to ensure that food security, food sovereignty, and the fair treatment of all workers – in every link of the food chain – are top priorities for policy developers.
Food workers need to have a strong voice in the development of Canada’s food policy, and you can ensure that by taking a few moments to complete the food policy survey.
The survey closes on July 27, 2017, and in addition to the recent Food Summit in Ottawa – where UFCW played a leading role – is an important part of the federal government’s consultation process.
