UFCW Canada Political Action
Making a difference in our communities
Politics plays a big part in our day to day lives. As Canada's leading and most progressive union, UFCW Canada is committed to ensuring that the decisions made by political parties and elected officials positively impact UFCW Canada members in their workplaces, homes and communities.
UFCW Canada is also committed to providing the tools and resources necessary to support and elect political leaders who understand the issues that face UFCW Canada members and their families.
From key issues such as quality jobs, to retirement security, to workplace health and safety and overall workplace rights, as well as training and education, UFCW Canada Political Action means a strong voice for positive change and a better future for working people across Canada.
Guided by UFCW Canada's National Council Political Action Committee, the union's Political Action efforts are fully committed to building a network of politically engaged UFCW Canada members who are committed to making a progressive difference at every level of government, as well as training members to effectively lobby their elected representatives for laws and policies that benefit working families.
Whether through building community coalitions, lobbying, activists training opportunities, or local election campaign support, UFCW Canada continues to be a strong voice through our Political Action efforts in order to support politicians and parties who fight for workers' rights and worker friendly legislation.
