At least that’s the impression Pablo Godoy is left with after successfully launching his new radio program Barrio Nuevo – La Esquina, which is Spanish for “The New Neighbourhood – Around the Corner”.

New resource for new parents
 |
UFCW Canada members who are new or expectant parents will have some new help this year in trying to figure out what their rights and entitlements are as workers and new parents. The UFCW Canada Guide to Maternity, Paternity & Parental Leaves from Work, initiated by UFCW Canada’s National Women’s Advisory Committee, was recently made available to help members make sense of an often-complicated benefits system.

Strike vote held by UFCW Canada members at Springhill Farms — 98% vote in favour of strike action
WINNIPEG - Jan. 14, 2010 - UFCW Canada Local 832 members working at Springhill Farms in Neepawa, Manitoba, met Wednesday to hear the status of their negotiations. With critical items such as wages and pension still on the table, and only a handful of days scheduled for negotiating prior to the January 31 expiry, the members gave their negotiating committee an overwhelming mandate in favour of strike action if required.
