Celebrate National French Fry Day with UFCW-made products
Toronto – July 8, 2022 – With National French Fry Day upon us consider stocking up on some of the best union-made French fries to go alongside that burger or hot dog, or covered in gravy and melted curds as a poutine main.
On average, North Americans eat 30 pounds of French fries each year, with McCain Foods supplying almost one-third of total production. In fact, the proud members of UFCW 832 at the Carberry plant in Manitoba process over 430 million pounds of prairie-grown potatoes every year.
Not to be outdone, UFCW members at Cavendish Farms facilities across the country produce over 700 million pounds of potatoes annually, good enough for them to be deemed the fourth-largest producer of frozen potato products in North America.
So on this July 13 – National French Fry Day – show some support to our local heroes who continue to provide us with the best and tastiest food products that keep us thriving.
