Toronto – December 13, 2021 – The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada (LLSC) and the City of Halifax have designated December 13 as UFCW Canada Day, in recognition of the valuable contributions made by UFCW Canada members in helping to find a cure for blood cancers.
“Your generous support has helped to fuel what once seemed impossible – research that saves more lives, and critical programs that assist people at every step of their blood cancer experience,” says LLSC President Alicia Talarico.
“Without UFCW Canada members, Local Unions and allies, there would be fewer scientific breakthroughs and less support services available to those newly diagnosed, people in treatment, and those navigating life after a blood cancer. We are truly grateful for everything you have done and continue to do in support of our mission.”
Over the past three decades, the UFCW family of activists and Local Unions have raised over $47.2 million and UFCW continues to be the largest annual source of fundraising for the life-changing and lifesaving work of the LLSC.
