Toronto – December 17, 2016 – UFCW Canada's groundbreaking online education program, webCampus, is launching a brand new course for the month of January.
The free online course is being offered in English from January 4 to 27 and is available to all UFCW Canada members and their families, as well as our community partners.
The new course is described as follows:
Culinary Skills: The Chef's Knife
This course is part of a series of courses that are designed to introduce participants to the fundamental skills required to work in a professional kitchen. The Chef's Knife will cover the most important tool of the trade for cooks and chefs – the knife. After completing this course, you will have an understanding of:
• Different types of knives and choosing the right knife for you;
• How to properly care for and maintain your knife;
• Knife skills, including basic and advanced cuts that are used every day to prepare vegetables and other ingredients; and
• How to use your knife safely.
