UFCW Canada activists join United Latinos 2014 Educational Conference
Toronto – September 30, 2014 – UFCW Canada activists recently joined more than 200 United Latinos members for this year’s United Latinos Educational Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada.


Toronto – September 27, 2014 – The Ontario Minister of Labour recently named UFCW Canada activist, and the union’s regional director for Ontario, Derek Johnstone to the province’s Prevention Council, an advisory body that is mandated by the government to assist the province in reducing workplace deaths and injuries.
Toronto – September 23, 2014 – Olga Antipova is 29-years-old and works at Maple Leaf Foods in Brandon, Manitoba. She is a member of UFCW Canada Local 832. In 2011, Olga decided to come to Canada from her native Russia to learn English at a college or university. Olga holds degrees in business administration from post-secondary institutions in Russia.
Ottawa – September 8, 2014 – More than 6,000 people gathered at the University of Ottawa from August 21 to 24 to take part in the first-ever pan-Canadian Peoples’ Social Forum (PSF). The event attracted members of many different social movements from across the country.
Calgary – September 8, 2014 – UFCW Canada activists were loud and proud at this year's vibrant Calgary Pride Parade. The parade, held August 31, built on the momentum realized last year, with Calgarians lining the streets to show their pride and support for LGBTQ rights. Float entrants included some new and welcome faces, including four professional sports teams, marking one of the largest turnouts of professional athletes at a Pride Parade in Canada.
