Transgender equality rights now up to the Senate
Toronto – October 20, 2014 – This past June, hundreds of UFCW Canada activists and community allies marched in the Toronto Trans Rally and March during the World Pride Festival, in solidarity with transgender people who too often face discrimination and violence because of their gender identity.


Toronto – October 16, 2014 – Between October 20th to 24th, the final arguments will be presented at the Human Rights Tribunal regarding the welfare of First Nations Children in Canada.
Toronto – October 14, 2014 – On October 17, 1987, over 100,000 individuals gathered in Paris, France to proclaim that poverty is a violation of human rights. Many demonstrators, coming from impoverished conditions, took to the streets to demand that their voices be heard.
Toronto – October 8, 2014 – World Mental Health Day is annually observed by more than 100 countries every October 10, and was first observed by the World Federation for Mental Health in 1992.
Toronto – September 30, 2014 – UFCW Canada activists recently joined more than 200 United Latinos members for this year’s United Latinos Educational Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Toronto – September 27, 2014 – The Ontario Minister of Labour recently named UFCW Canada activist, and the union’s regional director for Ontario, Derek Johnstone to the province’s Prevention Council, an advisory body that is mandated by the government to assist the province in reducing workplace deaths and injuries.
