UFCW Canada prompts Human Rights Commission warning to Ottawa over gender discrimination in its SAWP recruitment
Toronto – December 12, 2014 – The Ontario Human Rights Commission (OHRC) has issued a statement regarding a recruitment program run by the federal government, in the wake of data pointing to the systemic exclusion of hiring women.




Toronto – December 4, 2014 – On December 6, 1989, Marc Lépine walked into École Polytechnique in Montreal and proceeded to shoot and murder 14 women before turning the gun on himself. Most of the female victims were engineering students.
Ottawa – November 28, 2014 – On Wednesday, a motion to defeat Private Member's Bill C-377, Stephen Harper’s attack on workers and their unions, was rejected by the Senate.
Toronto – November 25, 2014 – UFCW Canada is proud to participate in the YWCA Rose Campaign’s #NOTokay social media initiative. The campaign calls on individuals to take a stand on violence against women by sharing their voices in response to any tweets, posts, videos, images or clips that objectify, belittle or attack women in society.
