Vancouver – January 25, 2017 – The British Columbia Labour Relations Board (BCLRB) has upheld charges that the owners of a B.C. agriculture operation broke the labour laws in attempting to derail the union rights of migrant agriculture workers at Floralia Plant Growers Limited in the Lower Mainland. The workers are members of UFCW Canada Local 1518.
Toronto – January 20, 2017 – Four years after the Rana Plaza tragedy in Bangladesh, in which more than 1,100 textile workers were killed on the job when the garment factory they were working in collapsed, the government of Bangladesh is still ignoring agreements made after the tragedy to establish workplace safety, and has now allowed a brutal crackdown on garment union activists.
Washington, D.C. – January 18, 2017 – UFCW International President Marc Perrone was recently honoured by the AFL-CIO at the 2017 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Civil and Human Rights Awards Luncheon, held in Washington, D.C. on January 15.
Toronto – December 20, 2016 – UFCW Canada and Agriculture Workers Alliance (AWA) activists recently joined labour allies from Canada, the United States, and Mexico for the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation's Tri National Conference, held in Toronto.

Toronto – December 19, 2016 – December 24 marks the seventh anniversary of the Christmas Eve scaffold tragedy, in which four migrant workers were killed and another seriously injured after the scaffold that was supporting them collapsed at a Toronto worksite.
