Winnipeg and Quebec City – October 3, 2014 – UFCW Canada activists, over one evening in two different provinces, raised more than $80,000 for leukemia research at Light the Night events in Winnipeg and Quebec City.
Halifax – October 1, 2014 – Right now, the Nova Scotia government is racing to strip the democratic rights of 24,000 healthcare workers in the province. The newly elected Liberal government has introduced Bill 1, which would take away the right of workers to choose which union should represent them.

Toronto – September 24, 2014 – To date, American retail giant Target has reported a loss of almost $1.6 billion from its train wreck of an expansion into Canada. Ignoring the advice of industry pundits and retail experts, Target opened 124 new stores in Canada at break-neck speed, refusing to honour the jobs of more than 20,000 former Zellers workers in the process.
Toronto – September 22, 2014 – Late on a Friday afternoon, while Parliament was not sitting, Con boss Harper quietly announced that his government had ratified the Canada-China Foreign Investment Promotion and Protection Agreement (FIPA). Most Canadians have no idea what FIPA is.
