Virgil, Ont. – June 7, 2013 - Hundreds of migrant agriculture workers and guests gathered at the Virgil Agriculture Workers Alliance (AWA) workers' support centre June 2, for the centre's Annual Opening Barbeque and Soccer Tournament. Each spring, the yearly gathering hosted by the AWA and UFCW Canada welcomes back migrant farm workers employed in southern Ontario's Niagara region.

The event is part of the Our Dreams Matter Too Campaign, an initiative that is being led by UFCW Canada's national partner, the First Nations Child and Family Caring Society of Canada (FNCFCS).
Toronto – June 4, 2013 – Attention all UFCW Canada members in a full-time post-secondary program: the deadline for the UFCW International Scholarship is coming up on Saturday, June 15, 2013. Every year, the union awards the International Scholarship to UFCW members and the children of active members (who are also eligible to apply if they are unmarried and under the age of 20 on May 31, 2013).
Toronto - June 3, 2013 - The deaths of at least 119 workers on Monday at a plant in Jilin, China, "is a tragic reminder that the health and safety of workers must be the first priority in any workplace," says Wayne Hanley, the National President of UFCW Canada (United Food and Commercial Workers union). Montreal – June 3, 2013 – UFCW Canada Local 501 recently welcomed a new group of members from the Mont-Blanc ski resort who proudly joined the union on May 23.
Toronto – June 1, 2013 – A new UFCW Canada sticker is now available to all UFCW Canada activists and members to raise awareness of workplace injuries and deaths among co-workers and the public. Developed by the UFCW Canada National Council Workplace Rights Committee, the "Remember the Dead, Fight for the Living!" sticker is freely available in both English and French to support activists and their coworkers
