Des membres de la section locale 503 des TUAC Canada en grève à 13 magasins Maxi de l’est du Québec

QUÉBEC, le 22 octobre 2008 – À la suite de négociations infructueuses qui ont perduré pendant deux ans et demi, 789 membres de la section locale 503 des TUAC Canada travaillant dans 13 magasins Maxi de l’est du Québec ont exercé leur droit de grève générale illimitée à 10 h 00 le mercredi 22 octobre 2008.

“Enhanced protections” exclude farm workers

The Dalton McGuinty government announced, during a press conference at Queen’s Park on Dec. 9, that it will be changing Ontario’s Employment Standards Act to include better provisions for the province’s rapidly growing temporary labour force, but agriculture workers are conspicuously missing from the proposed legislation.

Visions of Independence employees join UFCW Canada Local 832

 April 2, 2009 -  UFCW Local 832 has been certified asthe official bargaining agent for the employees at Visions of Independence. The 100 new UFCW Canada Local 832 members work as front-line support staff assisting people with intellectual disabilities.
