Philadelphia, Penn. – October 6, 2025 – UFCW union activists from across the United States and Canada gathered in Philadelphia from October 2-5 to participate in UFCW OUTreach’s first-ever education conference; UFCW OUTreach is the union’s constituency group dedicated to advocating for the union’s 2SLGBTQ+ members and allies. .
Rimouski (Quebec) – October 6, 2025 — The two IGA supermarkets in the city of Rimouski, Alimentation Coop Rimouski on Jessop Boulevard and IGA Extra Rimouski on Sirois Avenue, changed union allegiance to join UFCW 500 on September 11.
Toronto – October 7, 2025 – Today is the World Day for Decent Work, an annual day recognizing the need for jobs that respect the rights and dignity of all workers.
Toronto – October 2, 2025 – Held every October, Women’s History Month includes the International Day of the Girl (October 11) and Persons Day (October 18), which aim to raise awareness of the barriers that prevent full equality for women around the world.
